Facebook Users Can Show Off Their Countries’ Flags in Their Profile Pictures

Nearly 200 country flag frames can be added temporarily or permanently

Facebook users have been able to add profile picture frames to express support for sports teams, causes and movements, and they can now showcase pride in their countries, too.
The social network Thursday added nearly 200 country flag frames to its list, which users can temporarily or permanently add to their profile pictures.
These new frames and the pre-existing ones can be found  or by tapping “Add Frame” on a user’s own profile picture in Facebook’s flagship iOS and Android applications.
If users are following pages or people that are using profile picture frames, they can also tap the “Try It” button, which will add the same frame to their own profile pictures.
A Facebook spokesperson said in a statement emailed to Social Pro Daily:
Whether you’re showing support for your favorite sports team or solidarity with a cause or movement, profile frames help you express yourself. Now we’re adding flag frames to the mix, in addition to the frames people will be able create on their own thanks to our Camera Effects Platform.
The social network launched Camera Effects last December in Colombia, Mexico, Taiwan, the U.K. and Ireland, giving users in those countries the ability to create their own custom profile picture frames.
Facebook said in an email to Social Pro Daily that Camera Effects is currently being tested in those countries, as well as Italy, Hungary, Argentina and Spain.
